who's it for

this is for

Wild Roots Renewal programmes are designed for people living with and beyond cancer, whether you're going through treatment, adjusting to life afterwards or living with the longer-term physical and emotional effects of cancer.

We also recognise the impact cancer can have on those supporting someone they love, and some of our programmes and activities are open to carers and supporters too.

• Living with cancer or currently receiving treatment
• Adjusting to life after cancer treatment
• Living with fatigue or other longer-term effects of treatment
• Experiencing uncertainty, reduced confidence or feeling disconnected from the life you had before
• Looking for a gentle way to rebuild strength, confidence and wellbeing
• Wanting to spend time outdoors with others who understand something of the experience of cancer
• Supporting someone affected by cancer and looking for appropriate opportunities to take part

Activities are adaptable and supportive, and no previous outdoor experience is needed.

Finding the right programme for you

We understand that many people wonder whether they are well enough or fit enough to join an outdoor programme.

Wild Roots offers different ways to take part. Some activities are gentle and restorative, while others provide opportunities to progressively rebuild fitness and physical confidence.

Activities can be adapted where appropriate, and we'll help you find the programme that best reflects where you are now.

You don't need to be outdoorsy, particularly fit or confident to begin.

If you're unsure whether Wild Roots is right for you, we're always happy to talk things through before you decide.
